Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has said Kaka is no longer a priority as the signing of Napoli forward Ezequiel Lavezzi draws ever closer.

PSG have long been linked with a move for Kaka, 30, with reports suggesting Real Madrid are ready to offload the Brazilian.

It would appear an obvious destination, given that Leonardo and coach Carlo Ancelotti both worked with the player during his AC Milan heyday, but it appears he is not bound for Paris.

“There is no negotiation,” Leonardo told Le Parisien. “Nothing at all. I have a personal relationship with Kaka and, based on this, everyone talks about a transfer as though it is a possibility. The truth is that, at this time, Kaka is no longer a priority for PSG.”

Even if Kaka is unlikely to join the club, PSG are certain to spend this summer, though Leonardo has told Ancelotti he may have to be patient.

“Like all coaches, he would like to get things done as soon as possible, but there’s no big hurry,” he said. “The market doesn’t close for another two months. That’s a long time and, above all, I don’t want to send out the signal that we are desperate to make signings quickly.”

He added: “Everyone knows we have a lot of money, so negotiations are often very difficult. We have a limit, even if it’s Tevez or Thiago Silva.”

PSG should at least be able to complete the signing of Argentina international Lavezzi, 27, in the near future.

Lavezzi’s agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, told Sky Italia: “We hope that the contract will be signed on Monday. There are still a few minor details to be discussed by both clubs. Everything should be ready by Monday or Tuesday.

“It’s difficult for Lavezzi to say goodbye to Napoli and once the deal will be completed, he will explain his decision to leave.”
